September BLAST Update
Posted on September 24th, 2009Our Christian Ed. class for young people has had a great start. If each church member would volunteer to assist for just one class we would have the entire program year covered!
The October 14th class will be on “Blast From the Past – A Visitor from the Old Testament,” and on October 28th, the class will be “For All the Saints.” See the sign up sheet posted on the hallway bulletin board and sign up to provide a kid-friendly meal or to help in other ways. To learn more about how you can participate, talk with Rev. Fisher.

BLAST May Be In Our Future!
Posted on June 1st, 2009“People of God, will you promise to uphold and support these children in their life in Christ?”
That is what the congregation is asked when parents bring their children to be baptized. In an effort to have a viable and thriving ministry for our children and others in the community, the Christian Education Committee is offering an opportunity for the congregation to act upon this promise. The Committee is exploring a midweek youth program allowing children ages 5-17 to meet in within their age groups twice a month to study God’s work, memorize Scripture, enjoy fun games, music, activities a light dinner and fellowship. This program would meet 6:00pm-7:30pm on alternating Wednesdays from September to May (the program would meet once per month during November and December).
The midweek gathering is guaranteed to be a BLAST: Believe in our children; Love our children; Attract our children; Support our children; Teach our children!
We want our children to:
- Make wise choices based on God’s truth
- Put their faith in God to help them in every situation
- To be loving and kind to all people
In order for this program become a reality, we need a diverse group of volunteers to help with appropriate age groups, provide music, games in addition to helping prepare and serve light meals. Also we need feedback from children and their families regarding an interest to such a program. We need all the members to pray for our children and how BPC can best fulfill its baptismal promise and we need the membership of BPC to help in making BLAST come to life.
