September 2009 Church Library News
Posted on September 24th, 2009The Women’s Association has donated five new books to the church library in memory of Diane James. You will be able to find these books within the next two weeks.
The first is the recently published “Called to Be Human: Letters to My Children on Living a Christian Life” by Michael Jinkins. This book is a series of caring letters from father to child about reaffirming a relationship with Christ. Another good book is “99 Things to Do Between Here and Heaven” by Kathleen Bostrum and Peter Graystone. It lists activities which will breathe new life into readers’ lives while opening them to new spiritual experiences.
A children’s book with lovely illustrations and titled “What is God Like” will be placed on the carousal in the narthex.
Also two Christian Fiction books will be added. They are “Trouble in Paradise” and “Beyond the Shadows”. -

Also, A Child’s Book of Prayers, illustrated by Juli Kangas has been placed on the children’s carousel in the narthex. Familiar prayers such “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep,” and “Thank You for the World So Sweet,” are paired with lesser known verses with illustrations of families at rest and at play.

New Books Added to the Library
Posted on June 11th, 2009For almost fifty years and for millions of readers, The Daily Study Bible commentaries, written by Professor William Barclay, have been a great help for both devotional and serious Bible study. Our church library has an almost complete set of these study books which cover the New Testament, and this summer the few remaining volumes will be added. This month the study guide concerning The Letters of James and Peter will be added.
Also, two paperback books for children will be placed on the carousel in the narthex. They are “A Scary Storm” and “Come to Me!” written by Patricia Nederveld.
