Our Cinco de Mayo luncheon raised $1992 for our mission trip to NJ/Staten Island in August. Thank you all for your generosity! A big and special thank you to our master chef – Bruce Parker and all those who helped organize and pull off this event.

Holy Week Schedule of Worship Services

Palm Sunday, March 24, 10AM

Our worship service will move from the Palm Parade through the Garden of Gethsemane and conclude with Peter’s denial of his Lord. The One Great Hour of Sharing Offering will be dedicated.

Maundy Thursday, March 28, 7PM

This special service will be a dramatic musical experience of The Living Last Supper, a combination of choral pieces and dramatic monologues of Jesus’ disciples during their last Passover Supper together.

Good Friday, March 29, 7PM

A Tenebrae Service that commemorates Jesus’ seven last words from the cross. (Tenebrae, the Latin word for “darkness,” is an adaptation of an ancient service in which candles are lit at the opening of the service and then extinguished after each saying, commemorating the darkness at the time of the crucifixion.)

Mission Trip to Staten Island, NY

August 9-18, 2013

Plans are underway— and EVERYONE IS GOING!!!

Okay, so maybe not physically… but certainly in spirit through prayers, financial support, and the creative energy it will take to make such a trip possible. More on that in days to come…

For now, we need to know if YOU are interested in making the trip to Staten Island as part of the BPC work group.

Please speak with Arlene Petersen, Bruce Parker or call the church office for more information and to get a pre-registration form. There is a $30 deposit fee to pre-register.

PRE-REGISTRATIONS are due February 17.

Plans are to raise funds for transportation, housing and food. Details will be forthcoming.

Ash Wednesday Service – February 13 @ 7 p.m.

Christmas Eve Candle Light Service

Monday, December 24 at 5 p.m.

You are invited to join us as we share in the awe and wonder of God’s love come down in the Christ Child. We will sing of our Lord’s birth, reflect on this Christ Child’s meaning in our lives, share in prayer, and let the candlelight dance as we lift praise and worship to God for thhis great love.

St Vincent de Paul Mealsite update…

A big thank you to the people who cooked, prepared and served food on December 4th at the St Vincent de Paul mealsite. Our casseroles, salad, beans, dessert breads and french bread served 280 people. This is the highest number of people we have ever served.

Our next date to serve is February 5th. We plan to add to the quantity of food we take with us to ensure that all have a warm meal that night. Please be sure to check the sign up board in the church narthex or call the church office if you can help with food, preparation, or serving.

Alternative Christmas Market HUGE SUCCESS!!!

On Sunday, December 2nd, BPC held their Alternative Christmas Market.

Agencies in attendance to share information about their programs of helping people in need included: Heifer International, Agape House, Penfield Children’s Center, Healing the Children , and Habitat for Humanity. Total funds raised were…

$4,467.50.

Congratulations, BPC, on raising these needed funds for organizations that work as the hands and feet of Christ with those in need. Well done, good and faithful servants!
